Reiki

Reiki is one of the nicest, most relaxing energy healing experiences you can have. This is one of the most ancient forms of energetic medicine and is and has been practiced by many cultures throughout the world from China to Egypt and back again!

Today Reiki as we know it is mostly the Usui reiki method founded by Mikao Usui, a Japanese doctor that retreated to meditation and perfected what we now know as Usui reiki.

Reiki literally means Rei - "Universal" ki -Vital or healing energy". So it it translates to universal healing energy. Reiki is perfectly natural and has recently, like many other energetic healing modalities, been confirmed as legitimate by the science of quantum physics. Reiki energy surrounds and pervades all living things and is present in all that lives. Reiki healing simply involves me opening up and increasing my flow and allowing it to pass through me to you in order to stimulate your own natural healing from an energetic basis. It feels lovely and relaxing and most people drift off and relax so totally they often sleep a little!

I am trained in traditional Reiki methods and I have been taught some Buddhist healing methods involving reiki energy. This involves me using different hand positions and mantra recitation silently as I work. Some say this greatly enhances the experience for them, other notice very little difference.

Each session lasts around 1 hour and involves you simply lying comfortably on my table fully clothed and just relaxing whilst I work. Occasionally gentle rocking is used and some gentle pressure to help shift blockages but generally there is only very gentle pressure from my hands resting on your body. Easy!
